Game/Guild History
In terms of MMO's, my history has been EQ -> Shadowbane -> City of Heroes -> World of Warcraft -> Warhammer Online. I still occasionally go back to some of these games. I have not stayed with any one particularly serious guild for any interesting amount of time with the exception of "The War College", a group of friends doing T4 content in WoW, though I did participate in more serious raid content at the onset of that game. Other than MMO's, I enjoy playing RTS and RPG games, as well as Pen and Paper RPGs. I am interested in roleplaying.
Personal Statement
1. What is it that you like about Warhammer?
I like the ease by which it is possible to find gear, which makes PvP interesting because fights are generally fairly even between equal-level groups, until coordination is added in, and I like that different classes have different roles in PVP, a feature certain other games are increasingly lacking.
2. Why do you want to join The Mafia?
The Mafia was recommended to me by Dalodin, a friend of mine, as a guild of "good people". This is of interest to me because thus far Warhammer Online's relative dearth of communication features has made exploration of several parts of the content frustrating (Organized PvP, Public Quests, and Instances, in particular), and I hope to find a community with whom I can experience and contribute to this content.
3. What would you bring to The Mafia?
A willing blade, tempered by centuries of... <cough>
A helping hand where it is needed, when it is available. An eagerness and willingness to try new things, bash my head against a wall, and take things in stride. A love of learning. Take your pick.
4. Describe a bit about yourself so we can get to know you better. We like to recruit the players behind the characters, not the characters themselves. The more in depth you go, the more likely your application will catch our eye. We're not expecting a 10 page long thesis, but something more than a few sentences would show that you're just not spamming all available guild forums for an invite.
I'm an obsessive escapist with a tendency to lose myself in what I'm doing. I play for a mix of reasons, but usually for the feeling that I'm doing something I could not otherwise experience. I'm the eldest of five, currently in college, and my interests lie in literature, programming, art, science, and math. Which is to say, more generally, that there isn't much that doesn't interest me - the question is more what I happen to be doing at any given moment. I like the lore of imaginary worlds, and the artwork that goes into MMOs especially; the contrast in craftsmanship between EQ and WoW landscapes is an excellent example of the kind of discrepancy that fascinates me, and while I was underwhelmed by WAR at first, I've come to appreciate the relatively thorough way in which the world has been rendered.
